In machining, it is often stated that a component cannot be fabricated unless it can be measured. This principle also applies to robotics, where a mechanism cannot be controlled to perform a desired movement unless it can be measured. Therefore, the ability to make measurements is essential for establishing a robotic or mechatronic system. For this special issue, we invite readers to submit papers or articles pertinent to the field of measurement. Possible topics include length measurement, angle measurement, intelligent metrology, optical measurement, image-based measurement, robotic sensors, sensing technology, processing technology, and AI in measurement. This list is not exhaustive, and we welcome submissions on any subject related to recent developments in the measurement field.
