Machine tools and manufacturing processes are essential for fabricating high-quality, efficient components required by industry. Increasing demands for accuracy, productivity, and reliability require further understanding of machining phenomena and the continued development of machines, tooling, and control technologies. Additionally, advances in measurement, sensing, and automation create opportunities to improve machining performance and production systems.
This special issue highlights recent research and technological developments in machine tools and manufacturing processes. It includes topics ranging from the analysis of machining phenomena to the design, control, and evaluation of machine tools and production systems. Both fundamental investigations and practical applications are welcome.
We invite original research and technical papers that contribute to the advancement of machine tools and manufacturing technologies. Submissions are welcome from researchers and practitioners in academia, research institutions, and industry. All submitted manuscripts will undergo a standard IJAT peer-review process.
Topics of interest include, but are not limited to, the following:
* Machine tool design and components, including structural and thermal behaviors
* Cutting, grinding, polishing, and machining phenomena
* Advanced manufacturing processes, additive manufacturing, and micro-/nanomachining
* CNC, CAD/CAM, artificial intelligence, and cyber-physical systems
* Cutting tools, tooling systems, and workpiece clamping
* Metrology, performance evaluation, monitoring, and sensing
* Production systems, robotics, and automation
