Abstract
To keep safety and security in our daily life, intelligent detection technologies for dangerous situations are discussed. The main concepts include a physical model approach and a rule-based approach. In such applications, development of special-purpose VLSI processors and hardware accelerators are essential to realize quick response. These typical examples are shpwn in this article.
