Abstract
Here I'll be reporting on my visit to Komatsu's Tochigi Prefecture Oyama Plant on November 20, 2008, where General Manager Seiji Bandou showed me around the diesel engine machining and assembly shops at the engine manufacturing department of the Engines and Hydraulics Business Division. This visit and my interview with General Manager Bandou were made possible through the kind offices of Vice President Noriyoshi Yanase of the Institution of Tochigi Professional Engineers and a former senior Oyama Plant employee.
