Abstract
A pioneering across-the-board approach is being attempted in Kashiwa, Chiba, Japan, to include local residents, medical institutions, agricultural and administrative organizations, universities, and private enterprises based on a personal health records (PHR) database providing health information on an as-needed basis. Kashiwa City hopes this effort will lead to Japan's first preventive medical effect validation field making available alternative approaches to health and medical research through trial and validation of health-related products. Kashiwa's Kashiwa-no-ha (Oak Leaf) Preventive Medical Project (KPMP) initiative also has a social experimental aspect of disseminating movements among local residents.
