A micro vision sensor is required for millimachines and micromachines. This paper proposes a compound-eye-type micro vision sensor that imitates insect vision. The sensor consists of a photosensor array and cover. A macromodel of centimeter size with 8 × 8 sensor units is constructed. Simulation and experiments with the macromodel show that the sensor measures an image such as a low-resolution image, and it is possible to obtain rough shape information. Additionally, a simple method of detecting motion appropriate for the sensor is shown.
