Abstract
We discuss the interdisciplinary treatment required by engineering in the amusement field from 3 viewpoints -- mental involvement, animism, and media. Specialists in al1 fields of amusement explain each instance in detail in this special issue, so that we tasks common to as wide a range as possible are used as a basis for discussing amusement as a discipline.
