Abstract
If one point should be mentioned in the process of recovery from the 1995 Hanshin Earthquake Disaster in Kobe to be passed down to coming generations, it would be "Machizukuri Organization." "Machizukuri Organization" is a form of post disaster community development in which citizens play a leading role. In districts where Machizukuri activities were conducted before the earthquake, "Community Development "Machizukuri" for Restoration" was undertaken immediately after the earthquake. This details activities in which residents are accustomed to participate could actually play an important role. The establishment of "Community Development Machizukuri" by the body such as Machizukuri Organization is necessary in every city in the country as soon as possible.
