Abstract

In this paper, we introduce a knowledge-based approach applied in the postprocessing of intelligent hand-written fax-form processing. This approach significantly improves recognition in application systems. The main topics covered in this article include (a) hierarchical representation of knowledge, (b) description of domain knowledge, and (c) inference mechanisms on the knowledge hierarchy.
