Abstract
We recently had the honor of visiting Fujitsu IT Products Ltd. (FJIT) in Ishikawa Prefecture on August 1, 2009. President Masanori Takada kindly gave us a tour of the factory. FJIT, a core Fujitsu Ltd. and PFU factory producing computer systems, manufactures and ships computer servers, storage devices, and other equipment for domestic and overseas customers. Under FJIT’s founding business policy for “pursuing improvements in customer satisfaction through ongoing QCD,” FJIT has consistently worked to achieve the most flexible production possible. Main objectives of our visit focused on how FJIT has improved its basis of production and what technical developments it has achieved in streamlining production systems.
