In the 2015 Third UN World Conference on Disaster Risk Reduction (UNWCDRR) held in Sendai, the “Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction 2015–2030” was adopted. The framework established seven targets, including outcome targets toward a reduction in human and property losses caused by disasters. The government of each country will be required to carry out the monitoring of achievements in the future.
This issue includes the outcomes of various interdisciplinary studies on disaster statistics, aiming at providing scientific findings that contribute to evidence-based policy-making by the government of each country. We are calling for papers from a wide range of fields same as Part 1–3.
